Transition Towards Carbon-Neutral Societies In Developing Countries

Dream Incubator Inc. and Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. proudly join the Japan International Cooperation Agency ("JICA") as its consultants to work on data collection and fundamental research on matching demand of developing countries with private sector technologies for achieving carbon neutrality, a global mega-trend that is now emerging in developing economies.

The purpose of this project is to study the challenges and needs surrounding low-carbon transitions in developing countries, potentials of Japanese startups to tackle issues involved, and to create a new framework for public-private partnerships based on relevant project findings.

An integral part of this project is an online seminar held on 20 August 2021 (material from the seminar can be found below) to share our to-date research findings and also to look for participants for our product/market fit study covering 9 countries (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Mexico, Brazil, Nigeria, South Africa) in a range of sectors, including renewable energy and energy efficiency, urban transportation, forest conservation, agriculture, etc. Successful candidates will be able to participate in the project from mid-October 2021 to February 2022 and be provided with support in the following agendas.

1. Hypothesis formulation and testing to improve the suitability of products, technologies, and services for target local markets;
2. Formulation and implementation of field research work plans;
3. Organization of seminars to be held during field research;
