DI SEA Director Hendry Pratama’s participation in UNDP Indonesia expert discussion “SDG Enabling Investments in Indonesia: A Sectoral Perspective”

In March 2022, the United Nations' global development network United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched the first-ever Indonesia SDG Investor Map with the support of Centre for Impact Investing and Practices (CIIP), a Singapore-based non-profit entity by Temasek Trust, to unlock private sector Investment Opportunity Areas (IOAs) with relevant country-level SDG gaps and priorities. The Indonesia SDG Investor Map identifies 18 IOAs and business models across 6 SDG-enabling sectors: Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Financial Services, and Infrastructure (Affordable Housing and Waste Management).

With DI SEA’s presence in the space of Indonesia’s public health and impact sector through our pilot project on social impact measurement practice with Indonesian healthcare startup Prixa, a pioneer in AI-powered healthcare gateway using NLP diagnosis, we had the opportunity to join other investors and corporates active across Indonesia on October 3, 2022 to represent in UNDP Indonesia expert discussion “SDG Enabling Investments in Indonesia: A Sectoral Perspective” around SDG-themed investment pipelines and their impact potential between enterprises and investors based on the priority sectors identified above. Insights gathered through the event are expected to help UNDP and its partners align several investment opportunities with potential SDG accelerators, investment matchmaking efforts and advocacy. The conversation involves local stakeholders, including the Ministry of National Development Planning, investors, players, and ecosystem builders who could help UNDP Indonesia transform the SDG Investor Map into concrete action plans for the nation.

After Indonesia, UNDP is now in the process of developing an SDG Investor Map in Vietnam to highlight exciting SDG-aligned investment opportunities and their social impact potential.
