Director Kazuhiro Nakashoji's talking about How To Be A Great Social Startup at National Economics University conference themed “Consulting and Investment Matching for Impact Startups”

HCMC, March 30, 2022 – Dream Incubator Vietnam (DIV) is delighted to announce that our Director Kazuhiro Nakashoji was a guest speaker at the prestigious conference on “Consulting and Investment Matching for Impact Startups” organized by the National Economics University (“NEU”, Ho Chi Minh City) to about 300 participants, including local social startups, investment networking agencies, investors, domestic and foreign investment funds, plus related professionals and NEU students. Held in conjunction with the Investment Matching Department TECHFEST2022, FIIS, CSIP, Adapter, Techfest247, Touzy, VN Startup TV, the conference is an effort to provide an overall understanding of Vietnam impact investment market, capital access needs and challenges as well as to connect investors with social startups in need of funding.

DIV Director Nakashoji has extensive experience in strategy consulting along with a proven track record in leading social impact investment projects with the governmental agency JICA to provide support for startups in emerging markets Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and India. He focused his talk on what it takes to become a successful social startup and social impact measurement process in a practical and numerical manner with real-world examples carefully picked from product/market fit validation projects DI has recently worked on in the social impact field.

Knowing what the investors’ expectations are in terms of doing business is essential for social startups. The talk impressed Mr. Pham Tuan Hiep from BK Fund/BK Holdings with its eloquence: “I believe that not only me but many guests today found the presentation very interesting. It provided us with basic knowledge as well as (social impact measurement) specific tools and instruments for people working in incubation and acceleration programs like us.” Besides money, what Vietnam’s impact investment still lacks is technical assistance support. “Not only financial support, we also need investors to support us more in terms of networking, market research, market acceptance, etc.”, Ms. Vu Thi Lieu - Ecosoi founder said.

Besides this presence, Director Nakashoji was also part of the jury for the final round of the Future Solution Contest - Startup Board held on November 27, 2021 organized under TECHFEST 2021 – the nation’s biggest annual event for innovative startups. Chaired by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Techfest Vietnam includes a series of contests, seminars, conferences, and other events creating a platform for innovative startup community in Vietnam with the 3 key goals of “promoting technology initiatives”, “resources converging”, and “promoting innovation”, dating all the way back to its inception in 2015.
